INTRODUCTION
DNA-People's Legal Services, Inc. is a nonprofit law firm. We provide
free legal services in civil matters to qualified low-income residents
on and near the Navajo Nation. Eligibility is based on federal poverty
guidelines. Apply in person during intake hours to verify your eligibility
at one of our nine office locations.
Because of demand and limited resources DNA must set priorities
for case acceptance.
We apply a simple approach and a unique philosophy to help our clients
discover their essential legal rights.
The purpose of our services is provide legal representation, to
communicate, and educate to our clients of their legal rights. We
believe that experienced and qualified attorneys, tribal court advocates,
paralegal, intake workers, and legal secretaries in addition to
other support staff. Can be used as critical tools in the research
and support of a ideal result to your legal issues. Once found,
that ideal result will continue to support our client's legal rights.
Our philosophy is based upon our respect - for our clients, for
your legal rights, and for the power of our legal system to enforce
those rights.

LEGAL EDUCATION PROGRAM
The Community Legal Education Program mission is to educate community
members about basic legal rights by providing free legal workshops,
brochures, annual newsletter "DNA Update" , radio program
"DNA Legal Minute" on Navajo Radio Stations, and video
multimedia presentations.

*"Pro Se" means to represent yourself in court - DNA will help you prepare court documents, but we will not appear in court or speak on your behalf.
SELF-HELP
CENTER
PROJECT
DNA is in the process developing self-help centers at each of
it's nine office locations. To achieve this DNA has installed
kiosks at each of these locations. The kiosks provided legal resources
in the form of multimedia presentations, and legal forms which
can be printed.
