R. Carlos Nakai is widely recognized as one of the world's premier Native American flutists. Nakai and his music have won numerous awards and have been honored as a Grammy Award finalist multiple times. A native of Arizona from Navajo and Ute backgrounds, Nakai was the second Native American to win the Governor's Arts Award. In addition to recording over 20 albums, Nakai shares his music through extensive touring, and has written musical scores for film and television.
