Welcome to DNA People's Legal Services

DNA People’s Legal Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit legal aid organization working to protect civil rights, promote tribal sovereignty and alleviate civil legal problems for people who live in poverty in the Southwestern United States. Since 1967, DNA has provided free legal aid in remote portions of three states and seven Native American nations, helping thousands of low income people annually to achieve long lasting economic stability by providing access to tribal, state and federal justice systems. Contributions to our organization are tax deductible and help us to make “Justice for All” a reality.

COMMUNITY LEGAL EDUCATION PROGRAM

The Community Legal Education Program mission is to educate community members about basic legal rights by providing free legal workshops, brochures, annual newsletter "DNA Update" , radio program "DNA Legal Minute" on Navajo Radio Stations, and video multimedia presentations.

BRIEF SERVICE CLINIC

*"Pro Se"* means to represent yourself in court - DNA will help you prepare court documents, but we will not appear in court or speak on your behalf.

Self-Help Center Project

DNA is in the process developing self-help centers at each of it's nine office locations. To achieve this DNA has installed kiosks at each of these locations. The kiosks provided legal resources in the form of multimedia presentations, and legal forms which can be printed.
